How to Use Ostorlab Copilot

Ostorlab Copilot is an AI assistant built into the platform. It answers questions about the documentation and about your organization's data, such as scans, vulnerabilities, tickets, assets, settings and the Threat Center, and it can carry out tasks for you. This guide walks you through how to use Copilot step by step.

Open Copilot

Click the Copilot icon in the top bar, or press Ctrl+J (⌘J on macOS). Copilot opens in a panel next to the page you are on.

You can also click Ask Copilot on a vulnerability. Copilot then starts a new conversation that asks it to explain that vulnerability: its severity, the affected asset and the first remediation step.

Ask a Question

In a new conversation, you can pick one of the Suggested Inquiries, or type your own question in the box at the bottom.

Press Enter or click the arrow button to send your question. Press Shift+Enter to start a new line. Example: "What is Ostorlab's Attack Surface Continuous Scanning feature?"

Copilot uses the page you are on as context: on a scan or a vulnerability page, you can ask about "this scan" or "this vulnerability".

View the Copilot's Response

Copilot shows its answer in the panel. Answers can include tables, lists and links to the documentation.

While Copilot is answering, you can type your next question: it is queued and sent when the current answer is ready. To stop an answer, click Stop processing.

Start a New Conversation

To begin a fresh chat, click the New conversation button (+).

View Past Conversations

To go back to a previous conversation, click the history button and pick the conversation in the list.

View Copilot in Full Screen

To read long answers, click the expand button. The full-screen view lists your conversations on the left.

Delete a Conversation

In the full-screen view, hover a conversation in the list and click the Delete button (trash icon). Deleting a conversation cannot be undone.

Good to Know

• Copilot acts with your permissions: it cannot do anything that your role does not allow.
• Copilot can make mistakes. Check important information.
